ABOUT

I am Chelsea Lauren, the founder and designer of George Rings.

Through the ancient art of lost wax casting, my small team of goldsmiths and I create understated rings, pendants, earrings, and bracelets of incredible weight, softness, and depth.

Always solid 18K yellow gold.

Never hollow.

Designed with Restraint

The first thing you may notice about George Rings is that the pieces are exceedingly understated.

This is by design.

In my experience, fine jewelry is always doing too much. As a designer, I am drawn to the smallest details, not in the form of ornamentation, but in the form of subtle curvature, balanced proportion, and satisfying weight. These are the ‘invisible details,’ and their successful execution is what makes George collectors say:

“This is the jewelry I’ve been searching for all my life.”

Made In-House

Each and every George Rings piece is handmade-to-order in our private workshop in Salt Lake City.

It took two years of intense work to set up a casting workshop from scratch, but making all of our jewelry in-house was an important part of the original vision for George Rings.

Gold is personal, intimate, even mystical. It carries energy, and it deserves a respectful environment and loving hands as it’s transformed into wearable art.

The George workshop is magnificent. With high ceilings, brick walls, cast-iron casement windows, and the finest bench tools and casting machines, it is filled with beautiful, natural materials that foster a truly joyful creation environment.

Made by Hand

From start to finish, every piece that we make is cast and finished by hand. The talented George Rings goldsmiths patiently usher each piece, individually, through wax-treeing, investment, casting, cleaning, filing, and multiple stages of detailed finishing.

The results are exquisite and completely unique.

Made to Patina

Like the beauty of ancient marble treads softened by a thousand years of footsteps, or the richness of a walnut table deepened by a thousand family dinners, solid 18K gold reaches its highest potential when its surface bears the signs of life.

Though we’ve been conditioned to believe beauty is in the perfectly polished, the brand new, or the eternally young; the time-worn carries a beauty that is impossible to fake, to rush, and to approximate. It is the result of touch, experience, and a life well-lived.

Each George Rings piece begins in a high polish state, a state of “newness.” Then with wear, a glowing patina will begin to develop, deepening over time to become truly yours.
