Description
A softly curved (and satisfyingly sturdy) cap of gold holds a lustrous South Sea pearl in our new Golden Orb Pendant. The design of this golden cap took months and many iterations to ensure it had just the right depth, taper, and curvature from all angles.
You will love its solidity, strength, and softness.
Cast in one solid piece, the substantial bail offers an extra-streamlined and sturdy feel, while the custom auger holds the pearl securely.
About South Sea pearls: South Sea pearls of this size (8mm-12mm) take 2-4 years to grow. They are known for having the thickest nacre — the outer layers of the pearl — of all saltwater pearls. Because the nacre layers are so thick and dense, South Sea pearls radiate a soft, warm "glow" from within, rather than the sharp, mirror-like shine found in other pearls like Akoyas. This heavy nacre coating also makes them highly durable.
Each pearl has been hand-selected for its intense luster, creamy color, and smooth appearance.
