For this limited edition of our beloved Sovereign ring, we sourced a deep blue green tourmaline, cut in the same gumdrop-shape as our original.
Officially released in 2021, The Sovereign is our dream solitaire ring. Instead of prongs or a hollow-backed bezel holding the stone, we created a softened square cup of gold — solid underneath — that securely cradles the cushion-cut cabochon. Most rings of a similar design are fabricated (i.e. constructed from bent sheets of metal and solder), but for The Sovereign (and all of our rings) we use the lost wax casting method. This allows for more gold volume, substantial bezel walls, and a strength, density, and softness that is not possible otherwise.
We also designed the band to seamlessly connect with the underside of the bezel, so it feels buttery as it glides over the knuckle.
Pairs well with the Essential Band or the Dominus Band (each sold separately).
Gemstone Notes: Our blue green tourmaline cabochon is ethically sourced and custom-cut through a family-owned mine in Brazil. Tourmalines have natural inclusions and variations.
Care Guide for Gemstones
Sizing NotesWith a substantial and solid gold bezel (four sides and a full gold base), The Sovereign carries its weight on top and will tend to lean side to side if a liberal size is chosen. Consider erring on the slightly "snug" side.
